NOTHING TO PROVE AT THE CROSS
“For by grace are ye saved through faith.” — Ephesians 2:8
At the cross, striving loses its power. We cannot impress God into forgiving us, work hard enough to erase our past, or collect enough good deeds to purchase peace.
Jesus has already done what we could never do for ourselves. Salvation is received by faith, not awarded to the person with the most convincing résumé.
The one you are praying for may believe Christianity is another impossible standard they will fail to meet. Pray that they will see the cross clearly: not as a demand to pretend, but as God’s provision for sinners who need mercy.
Lord, help __________ stop running, performing, and hiding. Let them understand that Jesus paid the price completely. Give them faith to receive what grace freely offers. Amen.
And when your own heart starts trying to earn God’s affection, return to the cross. You have nothing to prove there—only grace to receive.
